Four bodies were found inside Professor Julian Cross’s burned home. His wife wasn’t one of them. And his favorite student claims she knows exactly what happened.
Simone Hayes insists the fire wasn’t an accident.
She watched Julian’s wife, Vanessa, escape into the darkness while her husband and three children remained trapped inside. According to Simone, Vanessa discovered their secret affair—and learned that Julian was finally going to leave his family for her.
But Vanessa isn’t the only person being blamed.
The police believe Simone was obsessed with her professor. Julian denied their relationship. His wife accused Simone of stalking their family. And the private messages that could prove Simone is telling the truth have mysteriously disappeared.
Now, Simone must recount everything to psychiatrist Dr. Bennett: the lingering glances, the forbidden messages, the stolen night in room 614, and every choice that led her to the Cross family’s burning home.
But the deeper Dr. Bennett digs, the more Simone’s memories begin to clash with the evidence.
Someone is lying.
Someone started the fire.
And four people are dead because Julian Cross made one of his students feel chosen.
The most dangerous story isn’t always the lie. Sometimes, it’s the version of the truth you desperately want to believe.
His Favorite Student is a gripping psychological thriller about forbidden desire, deadly obsession, manipulation, and a narrator whose story will keep you guessing until the final page.
